Monday recommendations

Happy day after Drinko Cinco de Mayo! Hopefully you are not nursing a tequila hangover and are happily saluting a brand new week on this lovely Monday :) No fun Cinco plans were had on my part, I was busily working from 8:30am-7pm at the salon, but I did hear all sorts of celebrating going on at the awesome Mexican restaurant, El Guapos, next door. Drunk people are funny, dude. They're also loud. Anyway...
Hope your weekend was fantastic and Monday is treating you well.

Today, I wanted to talk about something that is going on in my life. Something that is relatively new, and is taking over.

I'm talking about Amazon one click buying of $.99 Kindle books!
You didn't think something was up, did you?

Thanks to other bloggers, particularly my friends who love reading and like sharing the giveaways they enter, I have stumbled upon some awesome book bloggers who do giveaways all the time. I've been entering every one I find like a madwoman, and if you follow me on twitter, you have probably seen my myriad posts for this and that giveaway. The giveaways are cool, but that's not where my problem lies. Those same book bloggers who offer cool giveaways for free stuff are constantly updating me on the newest Amazon markdowns for books that are $.99, and I have been buying them.
Like all of them.

16 books in the last month. That starts to add up, but it's not really an issue to buy $16 worth of books when in a hardback form each of those books could be $12-20. The problem is my inability to ignore these bloggers posting to Facebook about ANOTHER book that I just need to buy. It's like a compulsion. "So and so's book is now $.99!!!" their posts scream, and I immediately click through to Amazon and hit the one click purchase button.

It's bad, you guys. I don't even read the descriptions anymore. I just know it will probably be a sexy new adult romance and I will love it. So here I am to share some of my favorites I have bought and read lately, because sharing is caring. And I can't be alone in my fevered purchasing.

The Voice, by Jennifer Anne Davis was my first purchase made from the recommendation of a book blogger and a giveaway I entered. I was so intrigued by the snippet I read through the giveaway I decided to just buy the book for myself, and it is still $.99!

Off Sides, by Sawyer Bennett was my next purchase and I really loved this one! It's currently $2.99, but I would still buy it.

Give me Something, by Elizabeth Lee was a pretty decent read with an interesting premise, but wasn't amazing in my mind. I did like some of the writing catches though, so it's worth a shot, and still just $.99!

Real, by Katy Evans. OMG you guys will LOVE Remy! This alpha male fighter is ridiculous. And feral enough he likes to lick. Weird, but read it and find out what I mean. I liked the strong female lead, Brooke, and enjoyed reading her story as much as the love story that develops throughout. Now it's $3.99, but absolutely worth it.

If you want a little witchy supernatural action with a fantastic heroine, pick up Escaped by Rachel Robinson for only $3.99! Rachel is a blog friend of mine who is really on a roll with her writing. Escaped is the first in a trilogy I believe, and I know she has more stories on the way.

Lover at Last, a Black Dagger Brotherhood series book by J.R. Ward $14.99. I gladly bought this awesome book and read it with relish, because I love the BDB series! Quinn's story breaks my heart, and finally seeing his and Blay's story come together was awesome! Male-male sex scenes in this one, just fyi in case that freaks you out. The rest of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series is typical male-female love stories though.

Books I have bought, but haven't read yet:
Rock the Heart Michelle A. Valentine $.99
Rock the Band Michelle A Valentine $.99
Billionaire Novelist Mimi Strong 4 book series $3.99
Scrap Metal Harper Fox free!
Deceived Eve Carter free!
Beauty from Pain Georgia Cates $3.99
Take me as I am Stephanie L. Williams $4.99

Happy reading my loves!
Stop by Meg's to do a little mingling! It's been awhile since I linked up, but thought, why not?!

Motley Monday

Well, hey, how are ya?! Hope this Monday is treating you well after a nice weekend. I'm at work today myself, {it's my Friday!} but figured I would greet the day with gusto. I am working on becoming a better blogger, and all that that encompasses, and the first step is to post more often!
I made a few lyric images {one of which I misspelled something, so I can't post it until it's corrected lol!} because I can't get Fall Out Boy's new album out of my head, and found some other images that I thought were fun last night. It's my own little motley Monday around here, and that's the best kind to leave a full weekend behind with.
Made by me, with lyrics from the Fall Out Boy song "The Phoenix"
Who else is impatiently waiting for Catching Fire to be released?!
This makes me want to ride a carousel!
Hello, spring!
Word.
Somebody peeked inside my mind and pulled out my favorite look ever.
I have pants like those. I wore them Friday night and was sad that they're a little too tight. I need the rest of this though, like pronto.
Or more accurately for me, loose enough to not show your muffin top.

Can you tell I am totally in love with Fall Out Boy's new album Save Rock and Roll? It's out today, so go snap up a copy! You will love it, I swear, the whole album is the perfect workout music, will be a great summer soundtrack, and is perfectly scream singable in the car.

As a few of you have noticed, and kindly complemented, I had a blog face lift a few weeks back! This beautiful design was made by Kristen of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot designs and I am so smitten! She listened so well, made the adjustments I asked for, and created a gorgeous place that has inspired me to blog more, which was exactly the point! I am so happy with the way my blog is looking, I thought I would give it another present and buy my own domain! Now here is where I need your input, as my brain is a little fried and my first choices were already registered: Which do you think is easier to remember, better suited to my blog, and would be a good transition?
bhappygirl.blogspot.com
-or-
happygirlsareprettygirls.com
Obviously, the latter is the same as my current blog url, minus the blogspot bit.
My first choice would be happygirl.com, and 2nd choice happygirlblog.com but there are evil Internet trolls out there sitting on my coveted domain names and not using them! First world problems right there.

So please comment and weigh in to help me decide!

In other better blogging news, I have purchased a tripod for my camera and am looking into studio lighting to help me film some hair tutorials to share. Now don't get too excited, there is nothing to share just yet, but I am hoping to have something for you within a month or so, and hopefully that makes you happy :)

Now go enjoy your Monday!

Oh Monday

Woot, Monday is here and as I only have one client at the salon today, it's like I practically have the day off!

I have big plans for my Monday. I signed up for a hot yoga class this evening, putting a soon expiring Groupon purchase to use, and I plan to get my sweat on. It's been for-ev-er since I hit up a yoga class, and I feel it in my creaky, non-flexible body. I'm thinking hot yoga is exactly what I need to loosen up my sore muscles and help work out some hip flexor and piriformis issues running has given me. {Links are nice articles on hip flexor and piriformis}
Speaking of running, I didn't do much of that last week. The lazies hit me in a bad way. Also, the torrential rain was sort of a deterrent, making me not want to even go outside. Hibernation was a serious consideration. This week will be hit and miss for weather, so I may have to suck it up and use the dreadmill to get some mileage in, not ideal with my ADD tendencies.

This week is actually pretty packed! I have my final Girls on the Run session, and it's the end of season party. Oh, I forgot to mention I've been coaching a GOTR team for the last 10 weeks? That's because it's been a less than stellar experience, and to say I am thrilled the season is over with is an understatement. I am sure I will get in to that in detail in another post. Let's just say I forgot how much I dislike kids, especially the kind that enjoy being contrary. How you teachers keep kids' attention for an entire school day is beyond me, you are rock stars in my world.
I've also got some egg donor appointments, as I have just started my 5th cycle {woot woot the egg farm is back! Read herehere, and here for previous egg donor info}, hang out time with my bestie Tiffany, a babysitting gig, and lots of baking, including cream cheese pull-a-part bread for a birthday party, cupcakes for the aforementioned end of season party, and some Christmas goodies with my mom and sister. I have a training session with Anne, which means I will get my booty kicked, and I hope to try out a TRX class for the first time, putting another Groupon to use!

I am hoping that a busy week means I will eat better and stick to a plan to get back on the healthy wagon. Wish me luck!

How was your weekend? Anything fun planned this week? Let me know if the comments, I love hearing  from you all!
